We checked out BurgerFi the week after it opened, and it was busy already! There was a line to order, which was good, actually, because I needed a moment to figure out what I was going to order. The burgers sounded good, but I wanted to try the VegeFi burger. My husband got the Double Bacon Cheeseburger so I could try out their meat as well. We got an order of fries to split, since they looked big enough for two, and we each got fountain drinks.
The prices are a bit higher than regular fast food, and they don’t have a drive thru, but service is quick enough that it could be considered fast food. We waited about 10 minutes before the buzzer went off and our burgers were done. During that time we got drinks from the magical soda machine. I got the regular raspberry Coke, my husband got diet vanilla Coke. I liked his better, so I refilled with the vanilla afterwards. I loved the soda machine though, I could have spent all day mixing flavors and getting high off cane sugar.
The burgers and fries were served up hot, and we were lucky enough to get a table on this busy day. The VegeFi burger was mostly quinoa, but also a mix of shredded carrots and some other green stuff. Although it was crispy on the outside, the inside was somewhat squishy. I think it would have been better as a thin burger, crispy all over. I probably wouldn’t get the VegeFi again, just because of the odd texture.
My husband’s burger was much better. The burger was perfectly cooked, like beef is supposed to be. I also appreciate the fact that it’s grass fed, and I think you can taste the difference. I’ll definitely get one of the beef burgers in the future.
The fries were good, crispy on the outside, soft and lovely on the inside. The only thing that could make them better is if they were sweet potato fries.
The seating was good enough, but I think they were ill prepared for the lunchtime crowd they would be experiencing. There’s definitely less seating than your typical fast food joint, so expect to either wait or do take-out.
Yes, it’s more expensive than any fast food place out there, but the quality of burger and fries is better, so I’d say it’s worth it. Plus you have the added drink selection, so many beers and wines and Cokes, which just tops off a great meal. Since it’s so close to SAS and 40 I don’t think this place will have any trouble staying in business. I just hope they open up more locations, with a drive-thru and additional parking near me.
